Representatives of the American aluminum industry called on President Donald Trump to exclude Canadian imported aluminum from tariff quotas. They assert that such a step would strengthen the American economy and create new jobs.
In their statement, industry representatives expressed hope that their appeal would find a response in the administration, as Trump's intervention could prevent serious negative consequences for aluminum producers in the U.S.
"We are addressing the administration with a request to exclude Canadian aluminum supplies from taxes to avoid creating new burdens for American industry. This will help strengthen the market, preserve jobs, and ensure stable development of the sector," the statement said.
Industry representatives expressed confidence that resolving this issue in the near future would help avoid further conflicts and normalize trade relations between the two countries.
