Trump Announces New Tariffs on European Goods

US President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that production from Europe will soon face tariffs. He expressed discontent that European countries, in his opinion, are not making a unified effort to seek a resolution regarding support for Airbus and Boeing. Trump emphasized that the US has been compelled to impose tariffs in relation to the European Union and has intervened in trade to protect the interests of its companies.

"I told the Europeans: if you do not start paying for this, we will impose tariffs on your products," Trump remarked. He noted that the European Union pays $7.5 billion in subsidies to Airbus, according to WTO estimates. The American president also added that attention will be drawn to the achievements made last week in Europe regarding a labor agreement.

It is noted that the world trade organization has allowed the US to impose tariffs on products from the EU amounting to $7.5 billion due to illegal government support for Airbus.
