Powerful data processing centers consume enormous amounts of energy and have become increasingly important with the development of generative artificial intelligence, which requires substantial computing power for processing information accumulated in vast databases.
U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order on the creation of a National Council on Energy Dominance, which will focus on the development of electricity generation to surpass China in the field of artificial intelligence.
"We will become the largest producers of energy in the world, not to mention all the electricity that we produce for all places, especially for artificial intelligence," Trump told reporters at the time of signing the order.
"These centers largely need double the power than we have."
