Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet, has overcome a major hurdle to complete its acquisition of the cybersecurity company Wiz Inc. in a $32 billion deal, as the U.S. government said it would end its investigation into the acquisition. After the two companies announced the deal last March, the Department of Justice launched a deep investigation into the matter. However, Wiz CEO Asaf Rapaport confirmed in an interview with The Wall Street Journal on Tuesday that the department has concluded its review, but the deal is still under review by other antitrust regulators. The swift conclusion of the review indicates that U.S. antitrust authorities are no longer an obstacle to the deal.
