After the elections, criticisms emerged among Trump's own supporters, pointing out that he had not paid enough attention to his core electoral base, to whom he had promised during his campaign to lower the cost of living. President Trump had publicly proposed the idea of distributing cash payments to American citizens several months ago, but he did not follow through on the matter at the time.
