This was another demonstration of how this Congress and this administration work together to unleash America's energy potential. The North Slope of Alaska is home to some of the largest oil fields in the country, yet part of these resources remains untapped. On his first day in office, President Trump issued an executive order titled 'Unleashing Alaska's Vast Energy Resources' to encourage the development of Alaska's resources 'to the maximum extent possible.' Earlier this month, a subcommittee of the House Natural Resources Committee held a hearing on President Trump's executive order of the same name. It was also an acknowledgment of how critical Alaska is to our energy equation.
