Elon Musk's Pay Exceeds All US Teachers' Combined Income

Tesla's CEO, Elon Musk, has received a massive pay raise that exceeds the combined earnings of all elementary school teachers in the United States. Tesla shareholders recently approved a $1 trillion compensation package for Musk, the largest in the world, according to Reuters. The 54-year-old Musk is the world's richest person, with a net worth of over $466 billion as of last Tuesday, according to Forbes. Under this package, as reported by The Independent, Musk is expected to receive $1 trillion in stock over the next decade, though some payments could reduce the total value to $878 billion. An analysis by The Washington Post indicates that Musk could achieve an average annual income of $100 billion, which is $3 billion more than the combined income of all 1.4 million elementary school teachers in the U.S. Musk will also outpace other professions: $72 billion more annually than all 107,950 family doctors; $46 billion more than the combined income of 1,057,660 construction workers. However, Musk does not outpace all professions, as his average annual salary is comparable to the combined salary of all 3.2 million cashiers, while 747,750 lawyers earn a higher annual income, reaching three-quarters of their total earnings. Over 75% of Tesla shareholders supported the new compensation package, according to company officials. It is worth noting that Musk also owns several other technology companies, including SpaceX, the social media platform X, and the neurotechnology company Neuralink.
