The Trump administration plans to provide a $12 billion aid package for farmers, which will support a key economic sector that has been severely damaged by falling crop prices and the impact of tariff policies, a White House official said.
The official stated that President Donald Trump intends to announce the package during an event with corn, cotton, sorghum, soybean, rice, wheat, and potato farmers, as well as livestock breeders.
The aid will include up to $11 billion in one-time payments to crop producers under a short-term farmer financing program recently designed by the Department of Agriculture, while the remainder will be kept for uncovered crops.
