Musk is the world's richest person and could this year become the first person ever to reach a trillion dollars, according to the Forbes list, where his current net worth is $849.3 billion, making him far ahead of all other billionaires on Earth. Musk had previously denied that his growing wealth benefits him alone, noting in the same post that Tesla and SpaceX employees receive stock and stock options. He added: "All Tesla and SpaceX employees get stock/stock options, and Tesla is owned by over 80% by individual investors and index funds/pension funds, so any increase in value applies to more than 80% of them".
