Meta and AMD Seal $100B Deal for AI Chips

Meta has announced a massive deal with AMD potentially exceeding $100 billion to purchase the latest MI450 artificial intelligence chips to support its data centers. As part of the agreement, AMD has provided Meta with a performance guarantee allowing it to acquire up to 160 million common shares at $0.01 per share. The first tranche of these shares will be issued concurrently with the commencement of construction. The deal has a total capacity of 6 gigawatts, offering Meta the opportunity to acquire up to a 10% stake in the chip manufacturer. The first delivery for building a one-gigawatt data center is expected in the second half of the current year.
