Spirit Airlines, a low-cost airline icon, has filed for bankruptcy protection after years of rising losses, seeking to restructure its operations and financial obligations.


Spirit Airlines, known for its economical travel options, has filed for bankruptcy protection after several months of significant losses. The company announced that due to the pandemic, it lost millions of dollars due to a decrease in demand for air travel.

This initiative has allowed them to continue operations and negotiations with creditors while the airline works on financial restructuring. Spirit Airlines expressed hope that the bankruptcy process would enable it to return to sustainable operations.

In this regard, the company leadership confirmed that all flights and bookings will continue in a normal mode, and all loyalty programs will remain unchanged.

Bill Manning, chairman of Spirit Airlines, stated: "In the coming months, we are actively working with our creditors to continue operations."
