Razzie Awards 2023 Announce Worst Films and Actors

The Golden Raspberry Awards, also known as the Razzies or 'anti-Oscars', revealed their winners before the Oscars ceremony, highlighting the "worst" films and performances of the year. This year, the most nominated productions were 'Madame Web', 'Joker: Folie à deux', 'Megalopolis', and 'Reagan', followed by 'The Crow', 'Unfrosted', and 'Mufasa: The Lion King'.

Unlike the Oscars, the winners of the Razzies are not selected by the members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, but by the organizer itself. To be part of the Razzies, all you have to do is pay a fee of about 40 dollars, whereas for the Oscars one must be invited by the Academy's Board of Governors.

At the Golden Raspberry Awards, technical aspects are not rated as in the Oscars, since there are only nine categories: worst film, worst actress in a leading and supporting role, worst actor and supporting actor, worst director, worst screen combo, worst prequel, remake, rip-off, or sequel, and worst screenplay.

In this year's edition, some of the standout winners include Jerry Seinfeld as Worst Actor for 'Unfrosted', Dakota Johnson as Worst Actress for 'Madame Web', Jon Voight as Worst Supporting Actor for 'Megalopolis', Reagan, Shadow Land & Strangers, Amy Schumer as Worst Supporting Actress for 'Unfrosted', and Francis Ford Coppola as Worst Director for 'Megalopolis'.

Additionally, among the winners are Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga as Worst Screen Combo for 'Joker: Folie à Deux', the film 'Joker: Folie à Deux' as Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-off, or Sequel, and 'Madame Web' as Worst Screenplay. These awards, which highlight the "worst" of the film industry, generate controversy and curiosity among the audience year after year.
