Two astronauts from the USA, Suni Williams and Barry Wilmore, began their return to Earth after a nine-month stint at the International Space Station. They departed from the station aboard the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, as evidenced by live transmissions from the American space agency NASA.

They are expected to land in the waters off the coast of Florida around six o'clock in local time on Tuesday, accompanied by American astronaut Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Alexander Gerst.

Williams and Wilmore arrived at the station in early June aboard the first crewed test flight of the Boeing Starliner spacecraft. Initially, their mission was to last an entire week, but technical issues with the spacecraft forced them to remain in space for an extended period.
