Meta has launched an experimental feature called 'promoted posts' on Twitter, allowing authors to archive publications for 24 hours after publication. The new function is located in the 'psychological cargo' section of the content, which is available in the open access indefinitely.

Users can view their tweets as a temporary publication, which is taken from the list of followers, but stored in the archive profile. This allows deleting them or new ones without long-term obligations, sharing them at the same time in the history of the development of the company. The function is currently only available in the test regime for a limited number of users.

According to an analysis of the functions 'Stories' in Instagram and Facebook, which also disappears after 24 hours, 'promoted posts' are positioned as an instrument for more formal communication. 'We want that platforms served us more permanently,' said the representative of Meta, noting that users should have control over them, that is, in the open access.

Critics note that the decision is probably aimed at adapting Twitter to the current trends of digital content, once again increasing the cost in the management of the company. The testing of the function is expected to last for a year, after which Meta will assess its importance and possible changes.
