Florida Shooting Over Chicken and Eggs Argument

A heated discussion about chickens and the number of eggs a chicken can lay led to a shooting in Florida last week, according to American media. Authorities in Port St. Lucie stated that the incident occurred early Tuesday morning outside a bar. They explained that a 44-year-old man pulled out a gun during an argument and fired four shots at three people as they fled. No one was injured in the shooting. Officials clarified that the three victims knew each other but had only met the shooter that night. Peter Riera was arrested and faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The Port St. Lucie Police Department said in a press release sent to Newsweek that 44-year-old Peter Riera was arrested on multiple charges after shooting three people outside Harper's Bar in Port St. Lucie on Tuesday. Dominick Misiti, a first sergeant and media relations officer for the Port St. Lucie Police Department, told the magazine: 'I can confirm that an argument broke out between the three victims and Mr. Riera over a discussion about how many eggs a chicken can lay, with Mr. Riera claiming that he is a farmer who raises chickens.' Riera is charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, four counts of discharging a firearm in public, and one count of possession of a firearm while under the influence of alcohol.
