Apple has released the first beta version of its iOS 26.2 system update, bringing new features and changes for iPhone users. The company announced in a statement that the update is planned for a general release in December, without a specific launch date. The new update allows users to precisely control the transparency of the liquid glass effect on the watch face, enabling them to choose a clearer or more blurred appearance. Additionally, the upcoming iPhone update will allow users to add reminders directly within the Reminders app. The currently available update for iPhones already offered a transparent and opaque liquid glass effect option. Furthermore, the update adds quick-access buttons to the news app for sections such as sports, puzzles, politics, business, and food. Users will also be able to configure their phone to flash the screen when receiving a new notification. Currently, only one option is available: using the rear camera flash. With the update, AirPods users in the European Union will gain access to the real-time translation feature. This feature allows for instant translation of conversations in different languages. For example, if you are speaking English and the other person is speaking French, the voice assistant Siri can immediately inform you of what the other person is saying through your earbuds. This update arrives as Apple is making strategic changes to its system design and user experience, from improving accessibility and notifications to enabling customization and the ability to change the voice assistant. This reflects Apple's direction towards giving users more flexibility while maintaining privacy and security. The news app update also includes an option to activate an urgent alert, which will cause the phone to emit a sound at the set time for a reminder.
