US Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Against Vin Diesel Over Sexual Assault

A judge in Los Angeles (USA) dismissed a lawsuit on Wednesday accusing Vin Diesel of sexual assault in 2010 during the filming of 'Fast Five'. The plaintiff was a woman who claimed to have worked with the American actor as an assistant. The court, led by Judge Daniel M. Crowley, found the plaintiff's argument 'unsustainable' and contrary to the intent of California state law, according to the Los Angeles Times. Another reason for denying the case was that California was not the proper jurisdiction to file the complaint. The lawsuit was filed in 2023 in the Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging that the American actor groped, forcibly kissed, and masturbated in front of the plaintiff in a hotel room in Atlanta (Georgia). The lawsuit explained that the assault occurred just over a week after she was hired by Diesel and his production company, One Race Productions, for the fifth film in the popular vehicle franchise, and that she was fired the day after the incident for not reciprocating the actor's advances. The woman also sued One Race Productions and the company's president and Diesel's sister, Samantha Vincent, who, according to the victim's account, was the one who called to fire her.
