Former Disney star Christy Carlson Romano has waded into the drama surrounding 'toxic mom groups', which was sparked by an article written by Ashley Tisdale for The Cut. Far from supporting her, Romano advised the actress to simply 'find another group of friends'.
The scandal exploded when social media users discovered the names of the celebrities who were part of 'the group' that the former High School Musical star exposed in her written piece, bringing the focus onto them.
In recent hours, Christy Carlson decided to speak out about the drama on her TikTok account, subtly pointing at Tisdale. 'Okay, I'm going to talk about 'Mom Groups'. It's important to say that I live in Austin,' she began.
She highlighted the importance of mom groups when you have a newborn, but noted that it's not something that lasts forever: 'This is where it gets a bit harder: when your kids grow up. Basically, you can be friends with the moms, but if the kids don't get along, sometimes you end up leaving those friendships, and that's a bummer.'
At the end of her post, without naming her, she delivered a final blow to Ashley with a definitive phrase: 'It's very simple.'
Romano also stated that she does not identify as a celebrity. 'I don't identify as a celebrity, I think I'm a public figure, but I don't go around calling myself 'famous',' she said.
Finally, she offered some advice: 'But, in the end, if you can make time for the people that matter, they should give as much as you put into the relationship, and if that dynamic changes, just find another group of friends.'
