Franco Nero Receives Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Legendary Italian actor, known for his role as Django in spaghetti westerns, is honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. At the ceremony, he shared memories and advice from Laurence Olivier. Nero is confident his best role is yet to come.

Italian actor Franco Nero, the legendary Django of the 'spaghetti western' genre, joined the elite list of Italian personalities with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this Thursday. The director of the film accompanied his friend, dedicating a few words in which, in addition to celebrating his talent, he highlighted his human qualities. 'He told me: 'Franco, you can always play the role of the superstar hero, making only one movie a year, with the hope that it turns out well.' Well, that day has come and, finally, starting today, Franco Nero can also be trampled by a lot of people without getting hurt!' the 84-year-old actor said in his acceptance speech. 'I just want to tell you that I love you, that you are a brilliant actor but above all an extraordinary man,' Schnabel indicated. 'Your career will have its ups and downs, but in the long run, you will reap the fruits of your choices.' Nero, who has participated in over 200 films, concluded his speech by assuring that he is sure his 'best role is yet to come.' He recently starred in Julian Schnabel's film 'In the Hand of Dante', where he shared the cast with Oscar Isaac and Al Pacino. Nero, who admitted to having severe jet lag, highlighted personalities such as Luciano Pavarotti, Anna Magnani, Valentino, Giancarlo Giannini, and other Italians who, like him, are part of the most famous boulevard in Los Angeles. Throughout his career, he also played Sir Lancelot du Lac in the American musical 'Camelot' (1967) or Lorenzo Bartolini in 'Letters to Juliet'.
