Director Steven Spielberg, whose films were a favorite of Van Der Beek's famous character, also contributed $25,000. Other donors include 'Wicked' director Jon M. Chu, Derek Hough, Jenna Dewan, and others. The GoFundMe page, opened by the actor's friends, has raised over $2.5 million. The funds will help cover basic expenses, bills, and support the children's education. Van Der Beek's younger brother, Jared, expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support, which extends to personalities like Reese Witherspoon and his 'Dawson's Creek' co-star Katie Holmes.
