"Sentimental Value" was named "Best Foreign Language Film" at the 98th Academy Awards, held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. It triumphed over "The Secret Agent", "It Was Just an Accident", "Sirat", and "The Voice of Hind Rajab". According to the Argentine News Agency, the segment was presented by Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Javier Bardem, who wore a "No to war" badge in reference to the military conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran. The entire team came on stage to accept the award, and director Joachim Trier thanked them emotionally: "This film is about a dysfunctional family, and it's the opposite of what I felt with this team behind me."
