Daycare Teacher Gave Children Laxatives to Send Them Home

Authorities in Illinois have reported that a daycare teacher is charged with attempted aggravated battery and child endangerment. According to St. Charles Police, the 23-year-old teacher gave several toddlers, all two years old or younger, chewable laxatives to send them home early. It is alleged that the teacher tricked the children into believing the laxatives were candy. One parent, who chose to remain anonymous, said her child had been suffering from stomach issues for weeks, but tests were negative and no other infection was diagnosed. The teacher, identified as Yazel J., was arrested but later released pending a court appearance. It is unclear how many times the teacher used this tactic, but it is said she did it enough to cause serious health problems for the children.
