Ultra-Processed Foods Increase Risk of Cardiovascular Disease

According to 'Sai Tik Daily', excessive consumption of ultra-processed foods significantly increases the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and even death. The study involved 6,800 adults aged 45 to 84 with no history of heart disease. Researchers used dietary questionnaires to estimate participants' intake of ultra-processed foods, such as potato chips, frozen meals, processed meats, sugary drinks, breakfast cereals, and commercial bread. It was found that each additional daily serving of these foods raises the likelihood of cardiovascular problems by more than 5%, according to a recent study by American researchers from the University of Texas.
