President of the USA Donald Trump signed an executive order on the designation of the Houthi group from Yemen to the category of 'foreign terrorist organizations.'
This step is aimed at strengthening the designation against the grouping, which opposes the rule and interests of Saudi Arabia. Now financial and other transactions with the Houthis may be assessed as support for terrorism.
'Government Secretary noted that the Houthis operate in the interests of Iran in the region, threatening the peaceful resolution of the conflict in Yemen,'" it is said in the statement of the White House.
It is noted that such measures would help ensure the safety of the USA from the threat of foreign terrorism.
