The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated on Sunday that negotiations between his country, Kyiv, and Moscow regarding the conflict in Ukraine are going "well."
Trump did not provide details regarding the progress in the negotiations, but stated that the situation is moving in the right direction. Earlier this week, Trump discussed the Ukrainian conflict with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Going into the second round, my desire would be for all sides to be able to resolve the problem," Trump added. "I think they (Kyiv and Moscow) are doing it, and they are doing it very well."
Trump also confirmed that he is still considering the option of Russia participating in the 'G7' summit, which he wants to hold with Russia's participation, which was excluded from the group in 2014 due to the situation in Crimea.
In Trump's words, there is an optimistic tone regarding the peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine and its aim to include Russia in international dialogue.
