NFL Replaces 'End Racism' with 'Choose Love' Ahead of Super Bowl

A few days before the Super Bowl, the NFL chose to replace the slogan "End Racism" in the end zones, a decision that has generated controversy, coinciding with former President Donald Trump's visit to the event. The new slogan, "Choose Love," seeks to convey a message of hope during a difficult time for the country, despite many seeing it as a political gesture in response to Trump’s offensive against inclusion and diversity policies.

Trump's presence and his implicit support for the Chiefs have added an additional component to the political atmosphere surrounding this Super Bowl. Through his platform, the former president praised the team, its coach, and its supporters, highlighting that they provided him their vote in the last elections.

Although the NFL defends its decision and asserts that its principles of diversity remain intact, the timing of the change has sparked speculation. The slogan "End Racism" had been a symbol in the fight against racism, particularly during the height of the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020 following George Floyd's death.

In addition to the slogan "Choose Love," the game will also visibly feature "It Takes All of Us" at one end of the field, as part of the Inspire Change campaign, which aims to promote social change through sports. Despite the substitution of the anti-racism slogan, the NFL claims it is still committed to its inclusion programs, making decisions based on what it considers right for the league.

Amid the controversy, Trump, who will give a pre-game interview, has not openly expressed his support for a team, although he has shown his backing for the Chiefs on social media.
