Washington, AFP. The United States has imposed sanctions on the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court Karim Khan shortly after President Donald Trump's relevant decree was signed. The U.S. Treasury Department stated in a statement that they imposed sanctions against Khan in accordance with the decree issued by Trump on February 6.
Judges of the International Criminal Court found "reasonable grounds" for suspicion that both men committed war crimes.
"We will continue to use all our instruments to hold accountable those who threaten the principles of international law and order," - stated U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.
