President Trump has appointed Michelle Bowman, a former bank executive and state regulator, as the new head of supervision at the Federal Reserve following Michael Barr's resignation.

Trump Appoints Michelle Bowman as Fed Regulatory Head

Michelle Bowman was appointed as a president of control at the Federal Reserve Bank, replacing Michael Barr. Previously, she worked as an executive director at the bank and a government official in Kansas. Her appointment took place during the first presidency of Trump.

Michael Barr, remaining as the head of the bank, left the post of vice-president of the Federal Reserve Bank overseeing supervision, announcing his resignation in January. In his statement, he noted that the risk of conflict at the post may detract from their obligations, and in the current situation preferred to be more effective in serving the American people as a judge.

Thus, Michelle Bowman will take a key position at the Federal Reserve Bank, taking on the leadership in the area of control during this challenging time.
