Scott Bessent, Secretary of the Treasury, reaffirms the commitment of Donald Trump's Government to intensify pressure on drug cartels in the United States.

Scott Bessent, Secretary of the Treasury, declared that the measure underscores the commitment of the government led by Republican Donald Trump to "intensify pressure on violent drug cartels".

The new action involves the freezing of assets of three Mexicans and a company under King Zambada García, a major drug trafficker. The individuals and the company are accused of providing financial and logistical support to the Sinaloa Cartel, one of the most powerful and violent drug cartels in Mexico.

Today's sanctions apply to foreign individuals and entities engaged in a wide range of illicit activities, including international drug trafficking. The Trump Administration has recently intensified its focus on combating drug trafficking and drug cartels, especially in Mexico.
