Dan Calduell, one of the senior advisors to the Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, along with other officials from the Pentagon, released a statement in which he expressed concerns about the internal investigation conducted...
According to Calduell, he remains under the impression that the investigation was incomplete and protocol was violated with substantial violations. He also emphasized that the working group was unable to gain access to sufficient amounts of information and evidence to make more direct findings.
The expressed concerns led to a formal request by Pentagon officials who called for a more detailed investigation and the adoption of necessary measures to identify and prevent any violations.
Additionally, it was stated that information about the investigation would be forwarded to Congress for deeper analysis and oversight.
Calduell also noted that the issue of maintaining Americans' trust in the armed forces is of primary importance, and that any incidents undermining that trust must be thoroughly investigated and addressed.
