US President Donald Trump said on Monday that the United States will face a disaster concerning its economy and national security if the Supreme Court refuses to allow him to use emergency powers to impose comprehensive tariffs on almost all countries. "If the Supreme Court doesn't give me that right, we will have a catastrophe, not only economically but nationally," Trump said. Earlier, he said he would use emergency powers to impose 25% tariffs on all imported goods if the court refuses to back his plan for tariffs on Mexico. "I have the absolute right to use this law," Trump said, adding that "we can't afford to wait."
