The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) stated that the United States launched another attack on a boat suspected of being used for drug trafficking in the eastern Pacific Ocean on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of three people on board. The statement noted that the boat was in international waters when it was attacked by the "Southern Spear" Joint Task Force. US Southern Command confirmed in a social media post: "Intelligence information confirmed that the boat was involved in illegal drug trafficking, was traveling along a known drug smuggling route, and was carrying drugs."
