U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, an influential figure on the far right, announced she will resign from Congress, a week after President Donald Trump withdrew his support for her. In a video posted online, the 51-year-old Republican, elected in 2020 from Georgia, said she "has always been humiliated in Washington and has never adapted." She added that she does not want her supporters and family to "endure harmful and hateful primaries against me by the president we all fought for." Greene also noted that "Republicans are likely to lose the midterm elections."
