Trump announces imminent action against Venezuelan drug traffickers

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday that the United States will soon begin taking action against suspected Venezuelan drug traffickers on land. "We will begin to stop them on the land as well," Trump said in a video conference call with U.S. military personnel. "We have warned them not to send poisons to our country," he added. Trump noted that the land border is easier, but "this will begin very soon." The Trump administration was studying options related to Venezuela to counter what it describes as President Nicolas Maduro's role in illegal drug trafficking that has killed Americans. Venezuela's Ministry of Communications has not yet responded to a request for comment. Maduro has denied any link to drug trafficking.
