He stated that the country is 'at a dangerous turning point' due to what he considers the entry of 'unwanted elements.' Trump said: 'Our country is at a turning point. These are not people who work.. they do nothing but complain.' Continuing, Trump used a harsh tone towards migrants who criticize the United States: 'When they come from hell and complain, doing nothing but whining, we don't want them in our country. And her friends are trash. She is trash.' The Democratic congresswoman's attack comes as her administration moves towards an unprecedented tightening of immigration measures following a Washington attack carried out by an Afghan refugee that resulted in the death of a National Guardsman and the injury of another. The administration has taken a series of emergency steps, including suspending the processing of all immigration, naturalization, and asylum applications for citizens of 19 countries listed on the 'countries of concern' list.
