The U.S. Ambassador to Turkey, Thomas Bach, stated on Wednesday that Washington is holding talks with Ankara on its return to the F-35 fighter jet program, adding that the U.S. hopes these discussions will lead to a breakthrough in the coming months. Ankara says the decision was unfair and hopes the two sides can overcome the disagreement during U.S. President Donald Trump's second term. The U.S. had excluded Turkey from the advanced F-35 fighter jet program, manufactured by Lockheed Martin, and imposed sanctions on it in 2020 for purchasing the Russian S-400 air defense system.
