The US Ambassador to Panama, Kevin Cabrera, reacted to recent accusations against Annette Planells, who is suspected of conspiring against the candidacy of President Jose Raul Mulino. The diplomat added that the ill-conferred honor became a disgrace when the Department of State of former US President Joe Biden crowned an extortionist, Annette Planells, as its “Anti-Corruption Champion”. Via his X account, Cabrera stated that Planells was “exposed for blackmail and electoral interference”. Cabrera assured that under President Donald Trump’s administration, empty recognitions ended, and they are now focused on serious work: stronger collaborations, stronger policies, and true accountability. According to the ambassador, this failure in the policy of the Biden era only served to distort the mission of the award. “She never deserved an award; we will work to take it away from her,” the ambassador emphasized.
