The board of directors of the Kennedy Center has decided to rename the most famous arts center in Washington, which is now managed by allies of the US President, to the Trump-Kennedy Center, the White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt announced on Thursday.
"The board of directors unanimously voted for this decision," Levitt stated. She emphasized that this change reflects "a new era of cooperation between art and politics."
The decision has sparked debate among the public and cultural experts. Some critics believe that the name politicizes a cultural institution, while supporters see it as recognition of Trump's contribution to the arts.
