The U.S. Department of Justice will release 'hundreds of thousands of documents' about Epstein this Friday, when the deadline for declassifying the case files expires under a law ratified by President Donald Trump. 'I hope we release several hundred thousand documents today, and they will be presented in various formats: photographs and other materials related to all investigations into Mr. Epstein,' confirmed Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche to Fox News. Blanche also warned that they anticipate the release of 'several hundred thousand more' files in the coming weeks. On November 18, Congress approved the so-called 'Epstein Files Transparency Act' with broad bipartisan support, granting the Department of Justice 30 days to publish the case files. Although initially reluctant and even angry with those demanding the publication of all documents, Trump reversed course and signed the law after confirming strong support from the Legislature. The president is mentioned numerous times in the case documentation regarding his former friend, with whom he claimed to have cut ties in 2004, before Epstein was first accused of abuse and prostitution of minors. The files contain over 300 gigabytes of information, including FBI documents, deliberations led by Attorney General Pam Bondi, and materials related to the grand jury investigation that indicted the sex offender in 2019. The sensitive nature of the case complicates these efforts, as each document must be reviewed and redacted to hide sensitive information and protect the identities of the victims. 'What we are doing is reviewing every document we are going to release, ensuring that the identity and story of each victim are fully protected to the extent necessary,' Blanche stated to Fox News. The controversy over the case of the deceased magnate erupted after the DOJ informed in July that it would not release more information about the pedophile and assured that he did not have a list of famous clients whom he blackmailed, as several conspiracy theories claim. This angered the MAGA bases (an acronym for 'Make America Great Again'), staunch followers of the Republican president who consider these theories valid, to which Trump himself has given his support, and who have persistently demanded that all files in the case be published, as the head of state promised.
