The United States Southern Command reported that on Monday, the U.S. Army sank a 'low-profile vessel' suspected of drug trafficking in the international waters of the eastern Pacific, resulting in the death of one man on board. On the order of U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, the Southern Joint Task Force 'Lanza' carried out a 'lethal kinetic attack' against the vessel, which was operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations in international waters, the command stated in a post on X accessed by the Argentine News Agency. According to the explanation provided, intelligence confirmed that the vessel was transiting known drug trafficking routes in the eastern Pacific and was involved in drug trafficking operations. It was also noted that one narcoterrorist was killed in the attack. Since early September, the Pentagon has already sunk more than 29 alleged drug boats in the Caribbean Sea and the eastern Pacific, causing the deaths of at least 105 people.
