US senators have called on Apple and Google to remove Elon Musk's "X" and "Grokk" apps from app stores due to their use of "deepfake" technology to create inappropriate images. The UK government, in turn, stated that a decision on this matter will be made soon. The UK communications regulator OFCOM reported that it is urgently studying the necessary measures regarding the "Grokk" AI-powered chatbot, which was digitally altering users' images inappropriately without their consent when adding tags under posted photos and publishing these images on the "X" platform. "X" has now restricted the use of this feature to subscribed users.
