Trump studies responses to unrest in Iran

US President Donald Trump on Sunday said he is studying a range of responses to the escalating unrest in Iran, including military action. According to The Wall Street Journal, Trump will meet on Tuesday with a group of senior officials to discuss possible US government actions in response to the repression in the protests in Iran. The meeting on Tuesday will be the first "formal discussion" by Trump on the matter with his cabinet, and will include Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine, the newspaper reports, citing government sources. That discussion will address actions such as "boosting online sources against the Government, deploying secret cyber weapons against (web) sites of the Iranian Army and civilians, imposing more sanctions on the regime and military bombings," those government sources added.
