Trump Says Second Phase of Gaza Peace Plan Achieved

U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Thursday that the second phase of his peace plan for Gaza has already been reached, and that a «comprehensive demilitarization agreement with Hamas will be achieved, which will include the delivery of all weapons and the dismantling of all tunnels» in the territory.

«As announced by Steve Witkoff (Trump's special envoy for Gaza and Ukraine), we have officially entered the next phase of the 20-point Peace Plan for Gaza,» Trump said in a message on the social network Truth Social.

The head of state added that since the ceasefire, his team has contributed to the record delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, reaching the civilian population at a speed and scale unprecedented in history.

The president explained that, as Chairman of the Peace Board, he supports the newly appointed Palestinian Technocratic Government, the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, which will govern the enclave during its transition.

On Wednesday, Trump administration officials also explained that more details about the second phase of the peace plan for Gaza will be announced at the World Economic Forum in Davos, which takes place next week in Switzerland, where the U.S. president is scheduled to speak.

They also stated that in two weeks, more information will be released about the countries that will make up the International Stabilization Force (ISF), the UN contingent that must ensure the future security and demilitarization of Gaza, as stipulated in Trump's peace plan.

This week, Witkoff announced the start of the second phase of the peace plan, which envisages the demilitarization of the Palestinian enclave and the establishment of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, without the presence of Hamas.
