President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen pledged on Tuesday to respond "resolutely" to repeated threats from US President Donald Trump regarding Greenland and increased tariffs. "We consider the American people not just our ally, but also our friend," she said from the World Economic Forum podium in Davos. "But our actions that could plunge us into a spiral of tension will only help our adversaries, whom we are all determined to deter."
