U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Cuba "is about to fall" because it no longer receives oil from Venezuela since Nicolas Maduro was ousted from power. "Cuba is about to fall. We have a very good relationship with the leaders of Venezuela and we are going to keep it that way," he expressed. Trump maintains that the Cuban government has its days numbered since the U.S. attack on Venezuela last November 3, which resulted in the capture of Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, who were transferred to New York, where they face drug trafficking charges. Washington believes that the end of Venezuelan crude shipments to the island will cause a regime change in Cuba, a country affected by a serious economic and social crisis. The Cuban government has condemned the intervention in Caracas as an "act of terrorism" and warns that it will not tolerate intimidation or threats from the United States, which does not rule out even the use of military force. "There is no surrender or possible capitulation, nor any kind of understanding based on coercion or intimidation," he emphasized. The Republican noted that Havana "got its money from Venezuela, got the oil from Venezuela, but they no longer have it." Regarding Venezuela, Trump said that the United States has "a very strong presence" in that country, which he said has "the largest oil reserves in the world," and affirmed that he is "working excellently" with the interim government of Delcy RodrÃguez. "Now they are going to do better than ever and we are going to be making a lot of money for them and a lot of money for our country. Cuba is a nation that is very close to collapse," he assured the press before holding a rally in Iowa.
