The U.S. Department of Justice announced this Friday the publication of about three million pages and thousands of documents related to the pedophile and millionaire Jeffrey Epstein and will not censor any of the 180,000 new images. Todd Blanche, Deputy Attorney General, announced this Friday in Washington a new round of online publications, in compliance with the law that obligates to disclose all documents related to the case of the deceased millionaire, linked to U.S. President Donald Trump and other personalities, such as former President Bill Clinton (1993-2001). Blanche stated that, in his opinion, the publication of these new documents will allow the fulfillment of the law promoted by Congress so that the public knows the details of Epstein's crimes, convicted for paying for sex with a minor and who committed suicide in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on more serious charges of trafficking minors. "We are going to produce over 3 million pages, including 2,000 videos and 180,000 images in total, which means that the department will have produced approximately three and a half million pages in compliance with the law," Blanche indicated at a press conference. The publication is announced after months of cross-accusations between the Government and Congress over the slowness and the level of redaction of the documents to reserve details and names in years of records and legal documentation for the Epstein case. The Epstein Archives Transparency Law established December 19 as the deadline to publish all documents related to the New York financier, so the Trump Administration was technically in breach of the law while continuing the review and processing of the documents. Blanche acknowledged that after the new publication "some documents" will remain out of the public eye, but always in accordance with what the law marks, which allows to keep in secret documents that expose personal and private information of victims, as well as images of child pornography, that show death, physical abuse or files linked to an active judicial investigation. "Although the law allows to preserve documents necessary for national security or foreign affairs, no file is going to be classified or redacted according to that," indicated Blanche. For decades, Epstein had friendship relations with former leaders and high officials and was involved in intelligence or influence activities. The Trump Administration and the Department of Justice have faced controversies and tensions with legislators since, last February, Attorney General Pam Bondi assured that she was reviewing the "client list" of Epstein. During this time, Congress revealed documents belonging to Epstein's heirs, including some that suggested a friendship relationship with Trump from the 1980s to the mid-2000s, links that the former president rejected, while pointing out his friendship with personalities of the democratic field. "It is not true that we protect President Trump," said the Deputy Attorney General.
