US Strikes ISIS in Syria, Discusses Pathways with Syrian Officials

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) conducted 10 airstrikes on more than 30 ISIS targets in Syria between February 3 and 12 to continue sustained military pressure on the remnants of the terrorist group. Meanwhile, the U.S. State Department announced that Minister Marco Rubio met with his Syrian counterpart, Asad al-Shibani, and the commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazlum Abdi, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference. Furthermore, al-Shibani held a first-of-its-kind meeting with the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Tomoko Akane, to discuss holding former President Bashar al-Assad and other figures of his regime accountable.
