US Orders Non-Essential Staff to Leave Bahrain, Jordan

In updated travel advisories for Iraq, the ministry stated that it ordered on Monday "non-essential government employees to leave Iraq for security reasons," without mentioning the families of these employees. On Tuesday, the U.S. State Department ordered its non-essential employees and their families to leave Bahrain and Jordan, a day after a similar order for its staff in Iraq, amid escalating conflict in the Middle East. The conflict erupted on Saturday following joint U.S.-Israeli airstrikes on Iran that resulted in the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In a post on X, the ministry said it had updated the travel advisories for Bahrain and Jordan "to reflect the order for non-essential U.S. government employees and their families to depart."
