Two sailors aboard the USS Gerald R. Ford were injured when a fire broke out in the aircraft carrier's main laundry, which is operating in the Red Sea, the U.S. Navy reported Thursday. "On March 12, the USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) suffered a fire originating in the ship's main laundry," the U.S. Naval Forces Central Command said in a post on X. The fire was not combat-related and was contained, Argentina's news agency NA reported, citing Xinhua. "There is no damage to the ship's propulsion plant and the aircraft carrier remains fully operational," the command added.
