Los Angeles, Apr 4 (EFE).- At least four U.S. soldiers injured in the conflict with Iran have been identified as Mexicans by the Pentagon, which made public the details of the 'Fury' operation launched five weeks ago and that has left 13 military personnel from the North American country dead.
The four soldiers belong to the U.S. Army, which now accounts for 247 injured out of a total of 365. Another 63 injured are part of the Navy, 19 are from the Marine Corps and 36 from the Air Force. Of the 13 deceased, seven belong to the Army and six to the Air Force.
The figures have been detailed in the Pentagon's Defense Casualty Analysis System (DCAS), which classifies three other soldiers as Hispanic. The breakdown does not include possible casualties or injuries that occurred this Friday when Iranian forces shot down a U.S. fighter jet.
One of the crew members of the F-15 jet attacked by Tehran forces was rescued alive, while meanwhile, U.S. forces continue to work to find a second crew member, whose situation has not been disclosed.
This Saturday marks five weeks since the start of the conflict on February 28. Just today, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, warned Iran that it has 48 hours left to meet the deadline he gave it to reach an agreement or otherwise he will attack its energy plants. The U.S. president had already extended the deadline given without Tehran giving a clear response on its willingness to dialogue.
